Whether you’re working a day job in the corporate world or teaching within your craft to sustain yourself, many artists and musicians dream someday they will earn enough to go full-time with their art. And just as many have given up on that dream, because it seems out of reach. Or because they tried to go full-time but ended up having to return to the day job, because they just weren’t earning enough to sustain themselves and their family. I’ve worked with many private clients in different lines of work to make that leap from part-time to full-time in their businesses. And I’ve found that the process for success through this transition is similar no matter what business you’re in. In this class, you’ll learn:
- The 3 biggest mistakes to avoid during your transition
- The 3 things you MUST have in place before making the leap
- How to know when you’re ready to make the transition
- How to sustain your new level once you’ve made the leap.
If you think you know what it will take to succeed as a full-time artist, join me in the class. You might be surprised!

I just wanted to update and celebrate. As a result of this class, I had the confidence to make changes in my life that I believe will help me transition to music full-time. While it will take a little more time to establish myself in these new endeavors, the end result will grant me increased flexibility for meeting the demands (and creating the demands) of my music business. Knowledge feeds courage. Without the education through Debra’s class “Transitioning to Full-Time with your Music/Art Business,” I would’ve lacked courage for seizing this rare opportunity. I look forward to posting success again some day. Thank you Debra!
Ron,
I’m thrilled you’ve taken this bold move – and I look forward to helping you achieve your success and seeing you post about it here and on the yahoo message board!
Debra – Your teleclass was enlightening and very helpful. I have four pages of notes from Monday night’s teleclass as I find that note-taking helps me remember better.
In regards to your content, you were very focused with the subject matter. Artists who desire to transition to their art full-time (like me) would be wise to listen to what you have to say as you explain things in steps. There is also fluidity to your logic on how to get to the next level. I would only suggest offering more examples such as some instances where you helped or witnessed an artist fail or succeed with some of the things you speak of.
For example, an artist releases a CD. Celebrates it with a CD release party but only 4 people show up. What went wrong?
I know that examples like the one above are probably addressed in detail within more focused cirricula that you offer, but maybe a little more bait on the hook would help in the application of your teleclass content and provide a more provocative teaser to your more focused cirricula.
In regards to your delivery, you are very good with your presentation. You’re upbeat and positive. Keep doing what you’re doing, the way that you’re doing it 🙂 It’s magnetic and uplifting.
Thanks Ron!
Yes, I know the “Case Study” stuff is not my strong suit. I’ll endeavor to add more of that.
